When Dr Duke – aka Dr Ryan Mansell – decided he needed to update the look of his Shopify store, we were thrilled having already built out his practice’s website (link to wholistic website project). Startup Street – a leading website company in Tampa, FL – specializes in just these things, so we got to work.
Dr Duke needed a website that looked professional and medical, yet had a softer, more organic touch to it, being that his entire brand is based on alternative medicine and healthy lifestyles.

- Product Specs and Descriptions: Each product needed an in-depth review, in order to really build out the key ingredients, description, and other important information that helps consumers make informed decisions.
- Prioritize: While Dr. Duke had many products, decisions had to be made on which ones to focus on first. The Gut Protocol products were chosen due to their popularity.
Startup Consulting for Dr. Duke
The Dr Dukes Formulas website was developed on Shopify, including various extra features and benefits, and the shopping cart was thoroughly tested. The Shopify platform provides Dr Duke with not only a secure and robust ecomm option, but is also easy to understand and operate on the backend as well. Not all website companies can design well on Shopify, but Startup Street has developed the tools and resources to do so.
At the heart of the Dr Dukes Formulas website were the products, so Startup Street dove in and created custom graphics around each of the three main products, along with the package deal. This was done by taking key ingredients, and using them as background imagery. Not only did this provide a nice splash of color, it helped to drive home the organic, approachable feel that we were after.
Startup Street also facilitate a photoshoot with Dr Duke, allowing for both great imagery on the website while also providing evergreen photos that can be used in marketing down the road. The photoshoot was fun, light hearted and really helps the website to provide a personal feel.
Many times, a designer can only be as good as the photography and videos they currently have, allow them to be. When you’re redoing your brand, plan on spending half a day on photography at a bare minimum. Not only does this take your website to the next level, but you need these types of photos for your marketing going forward.
CONCLUSION
All in all this site came out exactly as planned, providing Dr Duke with a professional platform that operates smooth while capturing his brand. The website operates fast, and transitions to mobile extremely well. Thanks for the great opportunity Dr Duke!
