Startup Consulting Stays Cool With Sebba Shade’s Shopify Rebrand
- Website Development
- Startup Consulting
- Branding
- Website Redesign
The team at Sebba Shade had recently launched their patent pending, extremely well made boat shade product, meant to provide boaters with more shade while incorporating portability, durability and versatility into the product. They had launched about one year earlier, had gained product market fit, and realized it was time to upgrade the brand and take the business strategy to the next level.
Sebba Shade was in need of the following:
- Complete rebrand of the entire company, including logo, brand strategy and website.
- Wholesale distribution structure
- Business plan optimized
- Pitch deck to raise funds
Startup Consulting
Startup Street prides itself on working with startups and newer, growth-oriented companies, so the opportunity to work with the team from Sebba Shade was a perfect fit. Their product was amazing, they just needed a hand getting it all packaged up and figuring out a few of the next key steps.
- Wholesale Pricing: We worked with Sebba Shade on their entire distribution game plan, organizing the wholesale pricing schedule, adjusting the pricing and margins, and making sure that the shipping terms, pricing terms, minimum order amounts and everything else pertaining to wholesale distribution was solid.
- Fundraising: In order to gain a true foothold in the industry, the team at Sebba Shade needed to raise capital in order to lower inventory costs and build out the infrastructure needed. A complete review and analysis of the business plan completed, along with creating a clean and professional pitch deck, that feature all the important information that investors require, along with the photography and design elements that tied the deck into the new brand.
- Offer Information and Features/Benefits: An in-depth analysis was performed on the company and the product to clarify and organize the features and benefits of the Sebba Shade products, instructional on how the product works, and a completed FAQ section to answer questions and showcase knowledge.
There is absolutely no shame in this, and there is also nothing wrong with pursuing both of them in the early stages to figure out what works best for you. B2B vs B2C are two very different strategies, but assuming you understand each of them – or have a startup consultant in your corner that does – there is no harm at all in trying them all out as a startup.
Startup Consulting for Sebba Shade
We worked with Sebba Shade to create a sporty, clean and modern design for the website, which is no easy feat when working with Shopify, as Shopify tends to be a bit more limiting with design than WordPress. The website was designed with both a focus on the product, and a strong focus on branding, featuring taglines and other branding items throughout the website.
All products were properly loaded up, including current inventories, color variations, proper pricing and shipping policies, and more. The checkout process was thoroughly tested to assure that customers can purchase with ease. The rule of thumb for ecommerce at Startup Street is TEST, TEST, and then TEST SOME MORE.
Many times companies don’t see a point in placing various taglines, branding statements and other items throughout the website. They look at is as a misuse of space. What they fail to understand is that these items are driving home the brand, the emotion, the feelings. If you are serious about creating a brand, get use to not using ALL of your space available and filling some of it with things that are not 100% sales related.
Branding and Logo Design
As part of the rebrand, Startup Street was tasked with creating a new logo for Sebba Shade. The logo design needed to be sporty and fun, and incorporate the core product if possible. By working closely with the team at Sebba Shade through our proprietary logo design process, we were able to develop a logo that was simple, clean, and had just a hint of the product and industry, through the boat with cover/sun in the background.
Logos are possibly the most challenging aspect of developing a new brand. In essence, it is taking everything about the company and attempting to turn it into a symbol. Very challenging. This is why having a proven, laid out process that aligns both the designers with the client is so important. At Startup Street, we excel at systemized approaches to branding, that incorporate your feedback every step of the way in a streamlined and time sensitive manner.
CONCLUSION
Sebba Shade now has the brand and game plan to match their incredible product, and are primed for success for 2024 and beyond. Their brand is tight, their website is amazing and their logo stands out in a sea of mediocrity. The wholesaling plan is active and as of this writing, they are doing quite well in all areas.
