Carwash Startup Consulting and Website Development
Expert Startup Consulting for a Sustainable Car Wash Brand
Most Americans are familiar with the idea of express car washes at this point. You pull up, if you don’t have a monthly subscription you buy one, and through the wash you go. Nice and quick, very easy.
What Andrew Pugni – founder of Personal Pitstop Express – noticed, was that most washes are all the same, in terms of their brand, their appearance and their commitment (or lack thereof) to sustainable practices.
And so… Personal Pitstop Express as an idea was developed.
The next step was to create the brand, the business plan, and the pitch decks, in order to garner the type of attention from investors that is needed for a multi-million dollar launch.
Startup Street was more than willing to be a part of the journey, and as of this writing the car wash is approximately three months away from being built and completely operational.
Startup Consulting
Startup Street was able to take this vision and turn it into a complete solution via our Startup Launch Package. The items that were tackled during this project were as follows:
Market Research
After studying the marketplace, it became clear the industry as a whole could use a serious upgrade in terms of branding and meaningful differentiators. Therefore we created a niche from scratch, declaring that we would be building “the Apple of carwashes”. Everything brand related from that point forward needed to line up with that philosophy, both from a brand standpoint and also a sustainability viewpoint.
Establishment of Business Plan
We worked with Andrew to fine tune his existing business plan, making sure to elaborate on important items that are many times overlooked in the typical business plan template. Financial forecasts were developed, and the initial outlook of future investment opportunities began as well.
Development of the Brand
Startup Street created the mockups, graphics, taglines and other items related to the startup launch in a clean, professional and modern manner. Clean lines, lots of white space with black and silver as the accents. Splashes of color where needed.
Advice: Properly Formatting a Business Plan
All too often, new entrepreneurs need a business plan and get stuck in a ‘template trap”, meaning that they stick to the traditional items of a business plan, and once completed assume that it’s solid. Every business is unique, and most have multiple different elements of the business that need to be explored through the business plan. Always make sure your business plan has the basics, but don’t hesitate to dive deeper and even make entire sections of the document about the key elements of your company.
Website Design and Branding
The website for Personal Pitstop Express came out insanely good, most likely the best website in the entire car wash industry. Startup Street worked diligently in not just developing the business side of the startup through consulting, but extreme effort on the branding and elements for every single page, nook and cranny of the company.
The website features a wide variety of amazing graphics, comparative analysis tables, pricing tables, a detailed breakdown of the technology used for the wash tunnel and a page dedicated to the sustainable aspects of the company.
The ecommerce aspect of the website was handled by Rinse, a leading company in the industry that offers payment solutions and will also act as the CRM for Personal Pitstop Express going forward.
Pitch Deck
Startup Street created a well organized, professionally designed pitch deck that featured all of the key elements for the startup’s fundraising goals, but also matched the brand perfectly, from a design perspective.
Note: Andrew has received multiple compliments on the pitch deck, including one from a Shark Tank investor.
Advice: Keep Your Pitch Decks Simple
We have a saying, which is ‘Show ten investors your deck and prepare for ten different pieces of advice on how it could be better”. This is allll too true, because there is not a science in deck creation. Try to always remember, the point of a deck is to simple catch their attention in order to gain a meeting. If they’re interested, you can always forward over the complete business plan before the meeting or review it during the meeting. But don’t feel pressured to include your entire business plan in the deck.
